Teeth, Toys and Bananas
Now only two weeks shy of six months, Aubrey is passing one milestone after another.
We have...A TOOTH! Can't get a picture of it just yet, but we can see the top of the tooth emerging from her gums. Lower front, right side. The left side isn't far behind, we can already see the white spot. So far, no major crying/complaining, but we're waiting...
Getting into the grabby stage, too. Mommy was walking with baby in one hand and fast food soda cup (the cup-lid-and-straw deal) in the other. Aubrey lunged for the cup with both hands and practically had the straw in her mouth before Mommy could pull it away from her.
She pulled a similar stunt at a restaurant, so we figure we'd teach her a lesson and let her go right ahead and lick that slice of lime. Well, that backfired. She liked it.
She's also apparently developed the concept of "I want", as Daddy learned when Aubrey leaned over in the booster chair and grabbed a page of the newspaper off the counter. Little girls don't get to eat newsprint, so Daddy carefully took it back. Mmmmm, someone was VERY unhappy and let everyone within earshot know about it. Unfortunately for us, "within earshot" of Aubrey is about 300 yards in any direction. Fortunately, however, she's an alto and not one of those piercing high pitched screamers. Still...wow, has she got a pair of lungs on her...
We have bought her a number of lovely, colorful and very textured toys. She has several favorites. Other favorites include mommy's cell phone, the TV remote and pretty much anything that has to do with paper. Like reaching over and pulling daddy's Arabic articles out of his notebook when he's trying to read them. What's that old saw about "the more expensive the toy, the more they would rather play with the box it came in"? Right.
On to the photos...
Look At That, Reading Already!!
