October/November: The Fall Report

A random shot of a very very happy baby...

OK, so Halloween rolled around and Grandma D made Aubrey her first Halloween costume. We loved it and so did she. She was a star at the office Halloween party and even went through the Haunted House (on daddy's shoulder) without breaking a sweat.

We decided to take a drive up to Dubai, and on the way back, visited the Ibn Battuta Mall. He was a great traveler some six centuries ago -- a kind of Marco Polo type figure in Arab literature. Wrote amazing travelogues about his voyages to China, India, Egypt, etc. So the mall is a fairly huge affair with sections designed to resemble the architecture in different parts of the world to which he travelled -- Andalusia, Tunisia, Egypt, Persia, India, China, etc. OK, it's still a mall, but the concept is pretty interesting and it's well executed. You feel like you're walking around in one of those Vegas hotels where the arcade simulates a street in Paris or Venice.

First of all, we dicovered that Jenny has a store. It's even spelled right! And yes, that's how you would write "Jennyfer" in Arabic.

In the center of the Persia section...well, let's just let the picture speak for itself. Some things you just can't escape...

We've got a fun little lunch game going with Aubrey. One of us feeds her a Cheerio, then she feeds one of us a Cheerio. Sometimes she fakes us out, moves it to one of our mouths and grabs it back for herself. But most of the time, she's very happy to feed Mommy or Daddy a Cheerio. We hope it's teaching her sharing and give-and-get.

Not all of our dinner selections meet with the customer's approval, apparently.

Now this is a special picture. Because we got her to smile just big enough...yes...look carefully along the middle of her upper gum...see them?...new teeth!! Her two middle upper incisors have come in, and from what we can see, the ones to the left and right are only a week behind.
